Radial Engineering Tank Driver 500 Series External Reverb Driver Module
Radial Engineering Tank Driver 500 Series External Reverb Driver Module
The Radial TankDriver from Radial Engineering is a 500 series module that allows you to drive a balanced line level signal through the reverb tank in your Fender Twin amplifier. The unit is specifically designed to drive spring reverbs of all types and deliver the long trailing, shimmering effect that is only possible with a true spring.
Features:
- General:
- Custom drive circuit for spring reverbs
- Separate low and high tone controls
- Wet-dry mix to control amount of reverb
- Low-noise drive circuit for studio recording
- Controls:
- 100% steel casing reduces magnetic interference from other nearby modules that may cause pollution
- Blend knob sets the balance between the original dry signal and the wet signal received from the reverb tank
- Drive switch increases the output going to the reverb for less sensitive reverb tanks
- Omni insert switch sends the signal to the Omniport TRS on the Workhorse (sold separately), which in this case is a send & receive insert jack
- Shimmer knob increases the high-frequency tone of the wet reverb signal
- Boom knob increases the low-frequency tone of the wet reverb signal
- Send: 1/4″ output jack connects to your guitar amp’s reverb tank
- Receive: Your reverb tank output connects to the front 1/4″ receive jack and is converted to a balanced +4 dB line signal
- 1/4″ TRS insert Omniport jack can be used instead of the front panel connectors (tip-send, ring-receive) when used with Radial workhorse racks (sold separately)
- Construction and Design:
- Employs full-size through-hole discrete electronics for optimal signal transfer. Parts are selected by hand
- Road-proven Radial push switches feature durable metal outer casing and are rated at over 20,000 cycles for added durability
- Double layer front panel with steel construction adds rigidity to reduce stress on the PC board
- Transformer isolation eliminates hum and buzz caused by the grouped loops
- Dual potentiometers with double up solder points for greater durability; steel casing with steel shaft and retention nut will not bend when under stress
- Double-sided gold-plated 15-pin card edge ensures positive connection to the receptacle for improved mating
- Mil spec circuit board features double sided PCB and full ground plane to assure low noise and greater durability for years of trouble-free performance
- Applications:
- Lets you use your guitar amp’s reverb tank
- Adds the excitement of old school springs
- Creates lush ultra-analog effects
- Works in all lunchbox-style racks
