Compact Horn Loaded 4 x 12″ LF Enclosure
The CT9LO’s horn loaded, low frequency enclosure was developed as a companion to other CT9 Series loudspeakers in large-venue, high-level entertainment systems. It provides high definition bass with excellent directivity and outstanding transient response from a 40° trapezoidal cabinet that is a perfect match for other CT9 series
loudspeakers.
Heavy Duty 12″ Woofer
The heavy duty 12″ woofer used in the CT9LO features a 3″ edge-wound, copper-ribbon voice coil, weather resistant paper cone, butyl rubber surround and massive magnetic structure in a long-throw design that assures linear movement even at high power levels. It easily handles 700 Watts of program power.
Heavy Duty Enclosure
The CT9LO’s enclosure is ruggedly constructed from 13-ply hardwood to withstand the abuse it will receive in portable applications. It is rigidly braced and lined with fiberglass to supress resonances and and rattles and to assure low-distortion, high-level performance. A heavygauge perforated steel grille provides further protection from damage.
TRAP (TRue Array Principle) Design
The CT9LO features a 40° trapezoidal cabinet that has the same footprint as other CT9 series cabinets. This allows it to be used with other CT9 series loudspeakers in TRAP (TRue Array Principle) arrays. TRAP arrays represent a major step forward in cluster design by assuring coincident acoustic centers for all cabinets in tight-packed arrays. In an array, each module combines smoothly with the adjacent module(s) and adds 40° to the horizontal coverage.
Custom Flexibility
The CT9LO is available for either portable use or for permanent installations. Portable models are normally carpeted in black and provided with handles and Neutrik connectors. Fixed installation models are usually painted black and supplied with screw
terminals and universal mounting hardware in place of the handles and connectors. The universal mounting hardware provides twelve 3/8-16 attachment points that allow the CT9LO to be easily flown in any plane. Side and rear mounted Aeroquip track fittings are
available as an added cost option. Optional finishes include white paint, black carpet and “natural” (unfinished) to allow customizing.
